My
mission is to tell the story of a very tragic accident
that happened to me in August 1991. I would like
to share my story in order to show people that a
handicap or disability is merely a challenge like
everything else in our lives. Everyone faces
challenges, and it is our responsibility to accept our
personal challenges. It is our minds that defeat
us, not our bodies. Those of us who do not have
arms or legs must use their minds, or the way they view
their
situation, to determine the outcome and quality of their
lives. Our mindset can indeed give us the strength
to pursue our personal goals.

My goal
is to educate people in all walks of life, the young and
the old, about the physical challenges we all face.
While my disability was caused by an electrical
accident, someone else's may have resulted from a fire
or an automobile accident, or other catastrophic illness
or disaster. Everyone needs to know what a double
arm amputee really looks like with prosthestic arms.
I share my personal story not only as a means of
educating adults and children in safety issues, but to
inspire, motivate, encourage, and bring hope. |
